Feeling Grateful
As we head into November and December, the holiday season always gives me a moment to pause and reflect. It’s a time when I find myself looking back over the past few years and feeling incredibly grateful- for the places we’ve been, the people we’ve traveled with, and the memories we've made with friends.
When I think about some of our favorite trips, I’m reminded just how fortunate we’ve been to explore the world together. Each journey has added something special to our lives, whether it was discovering a new culture, sharing laughs with friends, or just stepping away from the day-to-day routine and reconnecting as a family.
One trip that stands out in particular was our time in Italy. Traveling there with a group of close friends made the experience even more meaningful. From wandering through historic cities to lingering over long meals and local wine, it was the kind of trip that reminds you why travel is so powerful. Those shared moments- exploring, laughing, and slowing down- are memories I know we’ll remember forever.
During this giving season, I find myself appreciating experiences more than ever. While it’s easy to get caught up in buying things, it's been a great reminder of how much experiences stay with you. They shape how you see the world, deepen relationships, and often change you in ways you don’t expect.
For our family, travel has been life-changing. It has opened our eyes to different cultures and perspectives and given us stories we’ll talk about for years to come. Because of that, we’re intentionally stepping back this year- exchanging fewer gifts and focusing more on what really matters: spending quality time together.
It’s a shift that feels right for us, especially during a season that can sometimes feel rushed or overwhelming.
Looking ahead, we’re also excited about what’s next. One of the things I love most about travel is always having another adventure on the horizon. Our next journey will take us to Greece, and I already am planning for the incredible amounts of feta cheese I plan to consume. Planning a future trip always brings a sense of excitement and anticipation- it’s a reminder that there’s still so much of the world to see.
As the year comes to a close, I encourage you to think about the experiences that have meant the most to you. Whether it’s a big international trip, a weekend getaway, or simply time spent with the people you love, those moments are what truly stay with us.
If you’ve been dreaming about a future adventure- whether it’s Greece, Italy, or somewhere completely new- I’d love to help you start planning. Sometimes the best gift you can give yourself or your family is something to look forward to.
Here’s to gratitude, togetherness, and the unforgettable experiences that make travel so special.
